Veggie sandwich ($7.25) and ben-yay’s (beignets, 3 for $1) at Cheeky Sandwiches. The sandwich was a lot greasier than I would have liked but the pickled veggies were delish. No photo of the ginger tea ($1.75), though I must say that it had the perfect balance of sweetness and a subtle, spicy kick!

Spinach and ricotta gnocchi ($7), delizioso panini ($5) at Gaia Italian Café. Didn’t care much for the gnocchi since it was bland. The panini was indeed delicious with prosciutto cotto and anchovies. Their toasted rosemary panini bread was most noteworthy. They seemed understaffed on the Saturday night that I went.

$12 flaky goat cheese crab pizza and $17 chili fennel ribeye with sauteed vegetables at Mehtaphor. Tasty dishes with a justified price tag. (Most of them, anyway — the pizza appetizer is a stretch to me.) The ribeye was very well marinated & grilled just right. The people who work there are always pleasant too.
